Creating a Program Block

To schedule content to your display, start by adding your assets and instances to a Program Block.

Then Schedule the Program Block for playout.

The display will begin playing the scheduled Program Block at the date & time that it was scheduled for.

If the total runtime of the block is shorter than the scheduled runtime, the block plays through all items, then start again from the top of the list.

Note: the display will be dark until the designated start date/time.

1. Click on the PROGRAM BLOCKS button from the main navigation

2. Give your Program Block a unique Title

3. Click on Images, Videos, Instances, or Collections button from the main navigation

4A. Drag an asset, collection, or instance from the flyout and drop it onto the drop zone in the Block Content area

Continue to drag and drop additional content

Note: To schedule full screen content to your display, add your asset(s) directly to a Program Block.

Assets will play full screen on your display. Assets that do not match the display’s aspect ratio will automatically letterbox, while maintaining its aspect ratio. (Storyteller will not alter your assets.)

4B. Re-order your content by dragging it up or down the list

Note: the order of the content in your program block is the order in which the content will play on your display.

4C. For Images assets, you may edit the Duration.

For example, you may want a particular image to stay up on the display for 30 seconds, before the next image comes up.

4D. Click on the Remove button to remove an asset from the block

4E. List of all scheduled playouts for this block

Note: When setting the duration for images, please ensure the total runtime of the block does not exceed its schedule duration. For example, if you have a Program Block with multiple assets that runs for 15 minutes, a single image asset with a 15 minute duration will prevent other assets from playing out.

Note: Depending on your network connection, very large files (1Gb or more) may require more time to transfer. Please create Program Blocks with large files at least 30 minutes prior to when you need the block to play out.
