A program block is a grouping of instances and assets. Think of it as a playlist. The program block can then be scheduled to playout on your Channels (displays).
Start by adding your assets and instances to a Program Block.
Then Schedule the Program Block for playout.
The display will begin playing the scheduled Program Block at the scheduled date & time.
If the total runtime of the block is shorter than the scheduled runtime, the block plays through all items, then starts again from the top of the list.
There is a one-second fade transition between each item during playout on your display(s).
1. Click on the PROGRAM BLOCKS or the PLAYOUT button from the main navigation
Then click on the Create Program Block button
2. Give your Program Block a unique Title
3. Click on Images, Videos, Instances, or Collections button from the main navigation
4A. Drag an asset, collection, or instance from the flyout and drop it onto the drop zone in the Block Content area
Continue to drag and drop additional content
Note: Videos and Images can be scheduled to be shown full screen by adding them directly to a Program Block, without having to create a Template or Instance.
Assets will be shown full screen on your display(s). Assets that do not match the display’s aspect ratio will automatically letterbox, while maintaining its aspect ratio. (Storyteller will not alter your assets.)
4B. Re-order your content by dragging it up or down the list
This determines the order in which the content will play in rotation with other content. (Item 1 will be played before item 2, etc.)
4C. For Images assets, you may edit the Duration.
For example, you may want a particular image to stay up on the display for 30 seconds, before the next image comes up.
4D. Click on the Remove button to remove an asset from the block
4E. List of all scheduled playouts for this block
Note: When setting the duration for images, please ensure the total runtime of the block does not exceed its schedule duration.
For example: you have a block scheduled to run for 30 minutes on Channel 1. The block has six images total, and all six image are set to 10 minutes, for a total of 60 minutes. Only the first three images will appear on your display. The remaining three will not have enough time to play out.
Note: Depending on your network connection, very large files (1Gb or more) may require more time to transfer. Please create Program Blocks with large files at least 30 minutes prior to when you need the block to play out.
